Al Ajban PV3 Energy company is led by a consortium of three major companies in the global energy sector: Masdar, a local player, and two international developers EDF Renewables (EDFR) and Korea Western Power (KOWEPO), sharing a strong ambition to contribute to the UAE’s energy transition.

The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the project was signed in May 2024 between EWEC and EDF Renewables - KOWEPO Consortium, after achieving a competitive solar energy tariff.
The transaction has been funded via six international banks. Upon completion, the plant will generate enough electricity for approximately 160,000 homes across the UAE.

EWEC drives the planning and forecasting, purchase and supply of water and electricity in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and beyond.
Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) is the sole procurer of water and power within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and beyond, with the mandate to ensure the supply of water and power to consumers. EWEC is part of ADQ, one of the region’s largest holding companies with a diverse portfolio of major enterprises spanning key sectors of Abu Dhabi’s non-oil economy. EWEC was formed in November 2018, succeeding the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Company (ADWEC).

Adopt a preventive approach in all our business activities by implementing the project’s Environmental & Social Impact Assessment and associated management plans to ensure legal and contractual compliance, using resources prudently maintaining a safe working environment and minimizing pollution.

Implement a risk-based Quality, Health, Safety, Social and Environmental (QHSSE) management system that conforms to the legal requirements, local and international practices, and standards.

Train all employees to be aware of their own responsibilities in respect of relevant Quality health and safety matters and their human rights and ensure that they participate in the prevention of accidents and co-operate with measures taken to prevent industrial disease and have the best work environment on site.

Instruct all project employees and workers with their Human right to have the best work environment on site and live in better accommodation and have their right to raise any grievance. Al Ajban PV3 Company is committed to implement QHSSE strategy  in compliance with the IFC and EBRD standards.
